Robert William Humason, 89, passed away Dec. 31 in Tacoma, Wash.
He was born June 13, 1917, in New Britain, Conn., the son of William E. and Elsie (Baker) Humason of Alna.
Robert was brought to Alna when he was an infant, after his mother died, and was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elton Baker.
He attended school in Alna and Lincoln Academy in Newcastle. He lived most of his youth and early adulthood on West Alna Road.
Robert met his wife, Miriam (Graffam) Humason, of Whitefield, and they were married on April 28, 1940.
He was drafted and served a short time in the Army during WWII.
He really loved playing music and could play almost any instrument by ear.
Robert was liked and loved by his family, and friends, like Jimmy Seigar.
Most knew him as Bob Humason and nick-named Lankey.
Robert is survived by his sisters, Martha, Bobbie, and Helen; children, John and Arlene, Don and Jean, Rod and Amy, and Sandy and Randy; grandchildren, Gail, Vicki, Judy, Robert, Michelle, Shawn, Mary, Thor, Kim, Mary, Pamela, and Randy Jr.
Services and burial will be held Wed., May 2 at the Alna Cemetery, Alna Rd., in Alna. The time will be announced at a later date.
