After retiring from fishing in the late 80s, he became General Manager for Fresh Pack Seafood. While with Fresh Pack he was able to travel to Alaska, Scotland, Iceland, and Canada buying fresh fish. He continued his career with Fresh Pack as a buyer at the Portland Fish Exchange. After leaving Fresh Pack, he started his own business, R.B. Greene Company, a salmon importing business, until retiring in 2008.
Upon his retirement he settled to Little Black Lake in Fort Kent. He was a Master Maine Guide, Vice President of Maine Fisherman’s Co-op Association, and active member in the American Legion Post 133 in Fort Kent.
