Roger M. Marshall, 84, of Dresden, died on Sept. 16 at Mid Coast Senior Health, Brunswick.
He was born on May 14, 1930, the son of Mason and Carmaline Marshall. Roger was born in Bowdoin and raised on the family farm in Bowdoin. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1948.
Roger proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and married Janet Yates in 1951, while home on leave. He later worked as a construction foreman for Harry Crooker and Sons for 40 years.
He enjoyed going to camp, hunting and especially time spent with family and grandchildren.
He was predeceased by parents; son, Wayne Marshall; brother, Herald Marshall; sisters, Barbara Marshall, and Shirley Card; and grandson, Kevin Perkins.
Roger is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janet Marshall of Dresden; sons, Randy Marshall and wife Cindy of Bowdoin, and Larry Marshall and wife Sally of Dresden; daughter, Laurie Sylvester and husband Bryan of Dresden; daughter-in-law, Lisa Marshall of Richmond; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will take place at 2 p.m., Mon., Sept. 22 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Dresden.
