Rose Alice Brewer, 88, of Newcastle, formerly of Milo, passed away March 11 at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born March 12, 1918, in Woodard, the daughter of Maurice Leslie and Mina Maude Cobb Lowell.
She was a graduate of Milo High School, class of 1936.
Mrs. Brewer lived in Milo for most of her life, before moving to Newcastle 10 years ago. A 58-year member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, she most recently became a member of the Newcastle Congregation.
She is predeceased by her husband, Nelson James Brewer, Sr.; sons, Nelson James Brewer, Jr., and William Brewer; daughter, Daune Brewer; and sister, Gwen Whitham.
Survivors include three sons, Darrell Brewer and wife Betty of Sebec, David Brewer and wife Marsha of Corinna, and Dwight Brewer and wife Debby of Newcastle; daughter, Andrea Wood and husband Robert of Levant; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in Milo.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
