Ruby Ella Lewis, 94, of Trevett, passed away March 9 at her residence after a brief illness.
Ruby was born in Boothbay Harbor Oct. 31, 1916, the daughter of Raymond and Mary Kate Reed Lewis, and was a graduate of Boothbay Harbor High School, class of 1935.
Ruby was a stay at home mom, raising her two children and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as her family tree expanded.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, making afghans, braided rugs and quilts. She lived for her visits with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, watching them grow.
Ruby is predeceased by her husband Charles Lewis, who died in 1975; brothers, Millard, Roy, Kenneth, Douglas, Norman and Raymond; and sister, Elizabeth Winslow.
Survivors include daughters, Beverly V. Crawford and husband Bernard of Falmouth and Brenda J. Artzer and husband Ambrose of Trevett; grandsons, Curtis Crawford, Corey Crawford, Brian Crawford, Michael Artzer and wife Erica and Mark Artzer; granddaughter, Valerie Artzer; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy Greenleaf Christopher Crawford, Wyatt Artzer and Zane Gray; and sister, Mary Cail of Portland.
Graveside service 12 p.m., Mon., March 14 at the Ocean View Cemetery, Boothbay.
