Russell V. Grant, 80, of Boothbay, died Dec. 22 at LincolnHealth – Miles Campus in Damariscotta. Russ had resided at Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta. He was born March 6, 1933 in Woolwich to Sidney and Amy Barter Grant. He attended schools on Barter’s Island.
Russ worked as an auto mechanic for 37 years at Frizzell’s Chevrolet in Boothbay Harbor. He enjoyed playing guitar with “The Amigos,” at the VFW dances for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents; first wife, Arlene Grant; brother, Kenneth Grant; stepson, William Pierce; and stepdaughter, Gwendolyn Moulton.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Edith Hunt Grant of Boothbay; stepsons, Richard Lane of Rockport, and Stephen Lane of Waldoboro; stepdaughter, Brenda Gould of Appleton; brother, Clayton Grant of Edgecomb; and sister, Evelyn Hysom of Wiscasset.
A graveside service to celebrate Russell’s life will held in the spring, date to be announced.
