Ruth A. Wooster, 91, of Warren, passed away on the morning of May 29 at Windward Gardens in Camden. Born on Oct. 31, 1925 in Warren, she was a daughter of the late Ernest A. and Edna L. (Graham) Young.
Ruth was a graduate of Warren High School, a member of the class of 1944 and attended Fisher Business School in Boston, Mass. Over the years she worked at Ames Department Store and Tuttle Shoe Barn, both in Rockland. She enjoyed studying and reading the Bible, and was a member of the West Rockport Baptist Church where she served on many committees in various capacities. She was an active volunteer in the community, including Pen Bay Medical Center and at Red Cross blood drives. Ruth enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Mary Clark, and Laverne Dickson; brothers, Stanley Young and Elden Young; son, Daniel Wooster; and daughter, Doreen Winslow.
Ruth is survived by sons, Dennis M. Wooster of Warren, and David A. Wooster and wife Nancy of Warren; grandchildren, Catherine Wooster and companion Chris Bennett of Warren, and Amy Wooster of Warren; great-grandchildren, Ashley Wooster, Abigail Harris, and Courtney Wooster; and very special friends, longtime neighbor Joyce Chapman, and sewing guru Vicky Ross.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a service to celebrate Ruth’s life at 11 a.m., Mon., June 5 at the West Rockport Baptist Church, 545 Park St., West Rockport. Pastor David English and Pastor Mark Holden will officiate. Interment will follow in the Pleasantville Cemetery in Warren.
