Ruth Elizabeth Bernardi, 72, of Waldoboro, died peacefully at the Sussman House on Oct. 9. Her husband of 53 years, Thomas R. Bernardi Sr. and her immediate family were by her side.
She was born in Northbridge, Mass. on Feb. 9, 1946, the youngest child of John Watts Fullerton and Blanche (Prior) Fullerton. She was educated in Douglas, Mass. schools, where she established lifelong relationships. A wise and kind woman, she was a source of love, strength, and encouragement to her family and friends. Being generous with her time, talents, and possessions, Ruth was a blessing to all who knew her.
Ruth is predeceased by her son-in-law, Lawrence “Hossa” Anthony; brothers-in-law, William W. Lafond II, and Paul Brann.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; their children, Thomas R. Bernardi Jr., Diane Marie (Bernardi) Poland and husband Bobby, and Anthony J. Bernardi Sr. and wife Kathleen; grandchildren, Monica Pinto, Levi and Hannah Ruth Anthony, Anthony Jr., and Dominick Bernardi; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Colbie; sisters, Sylvia Lafond, Roberta Dudley and husband Bruce, and Ruthanne Brann; brother, John Fullerton and wife Jane; and many dearly loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested that everyone do a simple kindness to another in her memory.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sat., Oct. 20 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Rockville St., Rockport, with a reception and refreshments to follow as announced.
