Ruth H. MacDonald, 65, of Nobleboro, passed away peacefully Feb. 2 at her home with her loving husband at her side. Her passing follows a valiant fight with cancer.
She was born April 17, 1943 in Quincy, Mass. She married Tom MacDonald in 1962 and they raised five children together. They lived in Nobleboro for 40 years. She worked at Moody’s Diner until late last year when she fell ill with cancer.
Her life was her family for years. She enjoyed knitting, reading, watching TV and taking trips to Foxwood’s with Tom.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Tracy Sorci and husband Brett of Orlando, Fla., Wendy MacDonald of Nobleboro, Tammy Plummer and husband Chris of South Bristol, and Donna MacDonald of Bristol; son, Robert MacDonald and wife Melissa of Orlando, Fla.; 13 wonderful grandchildren; brother-in-law, William MacDonald of Norwell, Mass.; sister-in-law, Cathy Draheim of Norwell, Mass.; brother-in-law, Steve MacDonald and wife Lynn of Monomet, Mass.; along with nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Ruth requested there be no funeral, she will be cremated, and in respecting her wishes her family will have a sharing of memories at her home in Nobleboro on Sat., Feb. 7. All who knew her are welcome to stop by.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make donations to the Maine Center for Cancer Medicine, 121 Medical Center Dr., Suite 300G, Brunswick, ME 04011, where she received very caring treatment for the disease.
