Ruth M. (McLoon) House, 98, of Damariscotta, passed away on the afternoon of April 27 at the Woodlands in Rockland, with her family by her side. Born on July 29, 1918 in Damariscotta, she was the daughter of Charles and Catherine McLoon.
Ruth grew up in Damariscotta and graduated from Lincoln Academy. She worked for many years at Yellowfront Grocery in Damariscotta.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, William House; second husband, Calvin House; sister, Clara; and brothers, Charles, Joseph, George and Arthur “Doug.”
She is survived by sister, Katherine Crowley; son, William House; daughters, Pamela Carter and Patsy Dufresne; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be laid to rest privately in the Hillside Cemetery in Damariscotta.
