Ryan Patrick Chase, 30, of Whitefield, passed peacefully April 17 surrounded by his loving family at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass. He was born Dec. 22, 1977 in Augusta and was the oldest child of Pat and Robin (Fenderson) Chase of Whitefield.
He attended Whitefield Elementary and was a 1996 graduate of Erskine Academy. On June 24, 2000 he married his soul mate, Anissa Martin, with whom he shared eight very happy years.
Ryan loved working at the family’s sawmill, on the farm, and driving truck for Chase & Sons Transportation.
Ryan struggled for many years with challenging health issues; however, he faced each new obstacle with determination and grit and succeeded in providing for his young family. Brother-in-law, Jason Melanson and several of Ryan’s family members crafted his casket using lumber sawed by Ryan and his dad.
Ryan will be sadly missed by his family and many friends and he’ll always be remembered as a loving husband, father, son, grandson, uncle, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend.
He was predeceased by paternal grandparents Chester and Margaret Chase.
Survivors include his wife Anissa; children, Cody, Emma, Gage, and step-daughter Nicole; parents, Pat and Robin Chase, two brothers, Abram and wife Heather, and Isaiah and girlfriend April; two sisters, Margaret Melanson and husband Jason, and Eliza Chase; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Randolph Fenderson of Dunnellon, Fla.; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Celebration of his life and a Mass of Christian Burial April 21 at St. Denis Church of St. Michael’s Parish, Whitefield, gathering at the Chase home following the service.
There will be no public visiting hours. Interment will be in the family lot at Calvary Cemetery in Whitefield.
