Sara L. (Vannah) Colburn, 35, of Damariscotta formerly of Nobleboro, died Jan. 10 at her home. She was born July 28, 1976 in Rockport, the daughter of Stanley A. “Big Boy” and Nancy J. Vannah, Jr.
Sara was a graduate of Medomak Valley High School, a member of the class of 1995. On Feb. 23, 2004 she married Thomas Mark Colburn in Nobleboro. Over the years she worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at the former Fieldcrest Manor in Waldoboro and Cove’s Edge in Damariscotta.
She attended the Wilderness Church in Waldoboro, and she enjoyed riding with her husband in the truck. Sara’s boys were the light of her life.
In addition to her husband of more than seven years of Damariscotta, and her parents of Nobleboro, she is survived by her children, Cody and Coleton Innes; paternal grandmother, Lois Vannah; sisters, Lynn Waltz and husband Stanley of Nobleboro, Becky Hart and husband David of Nobleboro, Theresa Crombie and husband Brian of Yermo, Cal., and Beth Bizier and husband Kevin of Maddison, N.H.; brothers, David Vannah and wife Sue of Waldoboro, Mario Abaldo and wife Sherry of Rockland, and Thomas Vannah and wife Karla of Waldoboro; many other foster brothers and sisters; father-in-law, Raye Colburn and wife Sandra of West Rockport; brother-in-law, Richard Colburn and wife Rhonda of Chelsea; sister-in-law, Pamela Jameson and husband Christopher of Waldoboro; 17 nephews; nine nieces; two great-nephews; and four great-nieces.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for a memorial service to celebrate Sara’s life 11 a.m., Sat., Jan. 21 at the North Nobleboro Baptist Church, 546 Upper East Pond Rd., Nobleboro. The Rev. Robert Bellows and Rev. Murray Davis will officiate.
