Skip Cushing, 47, passed peacefully in his sleep on Aug. 11 surrounded by family that loved him deeply. For the last 10 months he had battled lung cancer with great courage and attitude.
Skip was born July 24, 1960. He graduated from Bristol School and Lincoln Academy. He joined the U.S. Air Force and retired as a TSGT following 20 years of honorable service.
In 1998, he retired to Honolulu, Hawaii, and then moved to Florida where he worked at the Osceola County Office of Management & Budget as a budget analyst until he was stricken with cancer in October 2006.
Skip had many friends and was loved by all that knew him.
Skip is survived by his father, Lee H. Cushing and stepmother, Laverne of Zephyrhills, Fla.; mother, Gail F. Moore of Round Pond; sister, Carolyn A. Mattern; stepsister, Carla R. Nichols; stepbrother, Carl R. Moore; step-grandfather, Richard B. Hall; uncles, Stephen F. Prentice and Blake S. Hall; and several cousins.
A private gathering to celebrate his life will take place in Florida where he resided for the past seven years.
