Shirley Laureen Gould-Jameson, 74, of Warren, died surrounded by her family at her home Aug. 7 after a long illness.
Born in Quincy, Mass., Jan. 26, 1935, she was the daughter of Daniel A. and Harriett Schurman Gould. She was educated in Quincy schools and after moving to this area in the mid 1960s, earned certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
May 21, 1965, she married LeRoy B. Jameson, Sr. in Camden. The couple made their home in Warren since that time, where they raised their blended family.
For more than 40 years, she worked as a licensed practical nurse at both the former Knox County General Hospital and Camden Hospital.
A devoted homemaker she enjoyed family gatherings and was happiest when involved in anything her family was doing.
In earlier years she enjoyed league bowling. She also took pleasure in knitting, doing puzzles and reading.
Shirley was predeceased by one son, Larry Jameson in 1976.
She is survived by her husband of Warren; son, Lee Jameson and wife Cindi; five daughters, and their husbands, Laureen and Warner Aston, Amy and Wayne Moody, all of Warren, Barbara and Wally Abbott of Edgecomb, Tina and Donny Herrick of Camden, and Linda and Bobby Blackman of Edgecomb; sister, Constance Parker and husband Edward of Lakeland, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Bud Jameson; and two sisters-in-law, Kitty Weeks and Virgie Jameson.
Graveside service 2 p.m., Tues., Aug. 11 at Fairview Cemetery, Patterson Mill Rd., Warren. The Rev. Ralph Miller will officiate.
