Steven A. Whitcomb, 67, surrounded by his family, passed away on July 19. Steven was born in Portland on April 23, 1948 to Melville Whitcomb and Avis (Colpritt) Bowers of Wiscasset.
After a successful career in management in California, Steven and his family moved to Rhode Island to form H+W Test Products with Gordon Hutton in 1989. Through dedication, hard work, and determination, the partners became a national and international corporation which is still in operation today.
Steven is predeceased by daughter, Jennifer Whitcomb; and siblings, Bruce and Linda.
Besides his mother Avis, he is survived by son, Michael Whitcomb; daughter, Kathleen Whitcomb; sisters, Lisa Gustafson and Lyra Trott; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In honor of Steven’s wishes, he spent his last days comfortably at home with his two children, sister Lisa, former spouse Linda Sheehan, longtime friend Kevin Blais, and his dog Sarah.
