Steven J. Crossley, 21, of Whitefield, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of Sept. 24 in Union. Born on Aug. 5, 1990, he was the son of William and Victoria (Young) Crossley.
Steve grew up in New Jersey, attending schools there. He attended Toms River High School South for three years before moving to Jefferson and completing his senior year at Lincoln Academy.
After high school, he attended Gloucester County College in Sewell, N.J. for a year, before coming back to Maine and attending Kaplan University in Auburn for one year. He was recently going to school to get into law enforcement.
Steve was an avid gun collector and enjoyed both working on, and shooting them. He loved to be outdoors, and enjoyed both camping and fishing.
He is survived by his father, William Crossley of St. James City, Fla.; mother, Victoria Crossley of Beachwood, N.J.; brothers, William, Wayne and Barry, all of New Jersey; sister, Gina, also of New Jersey; and a very special uncle and wife, Jim and Nadean Crossley of Jefferson.
Time of visitation 10-11 a.m., Fri., Sept. 30 at the Strong-Hancock Funeral Home, 612 Main St., Damariscotta. Funeral will follow at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home.
