Sue Ann Genthner, 68, of Waldoboro, died Dec. 31 at her residence after a period of failing health.
Sue was born in Portland on June 1, 1941, a daughter of the late Fred A. and Frances Crowell Genthner. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Waldoboro High School, Class of 1959.
She was employed as an operator and secretary for Bell Telephone Company, retiring after 25 years.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, painting pictures in oil and acrylic and loved the company of her dogs.
She was predeceased by her companion, Bertha Thauilt.
Survivors include her sister, Sally Gergely and husband Jim of Waldoboro; nephews, Jim Gergely and girlfriend Wendy of Waldoboro, and Jeffrey Gergely of Rutland, Vt.; great-niece, Heather Gergely; great-great-niece, Brooklyn Gergely of Rutland, Vt.; many cousins; and her dog, Suzette.
Celebration of Sue’s life will be held in the spring, at a time and date to be announced.
