Susan A. Johnson, 60, of Trevett, passed away July 23 at the St. Andrews Hospital after an almost lifelong debilitating illness.
Susan was born Sept. 26, 1951 in Stoneham, Mass., the daughter of Keith and Cynthia Wright Williams, grew up in Lynnfield, Mass. and was a graduate of Lynnfield High School.
As a young woman, she enjoyed bicycling, going boating and fishing, and attending concerts and going out dancing. Having been exposed to encephalitis, her health challenges were many, but she continued to enjoy her life’s journey. In 1976, she married Larry Johnson, and together they made their home in Trevett. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, usually completing them, reading, watching animal shows on TV, and spending time with her family.
Susan loved animals, cats more than dogs, and was a member of the National Humane Society.
She is predeceased by sons, Ronald Smith and Joel Johnson.
Survivors include husband Larry Johnson of Trevett; daughters, Beth Johnson of Boothbay and Ronda Hamilton of Kingston, N.H.; grandchildren, Kylie Michael of Boothbay, Zachary Brewer of Boothbay Harbor, Tyler, Mitchell and Brendon Hamilton of Kingston, N.H., and Ashlyn Finnemore of Damariscotta; two great-grandchildren; mother, Cynthia Williams of Boothbay; and brother, Steve Williams of Casco.
Celebration of Susan’s life 11 a.m., Mon., July 30 at the Southport United Methodist Church with Pastor Ami Sawtelle officiating. Interment will follow the reception at the Evergreen Cemetery, Boothbay.
