Susan (Pratt) Ramsay passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Nov. 28 after a long illness.
The daughter of the late Linwood and Virginia (Taber) Pratt, Susan grew up in Damariscotta.
After graduating from high school, Susan studied nursing at the Maine School of Nursing. She enjoyed a career in geriatric nursing for many years in Maine and in Massachusetts. She touched many lives during her career.
Susan loved her family, sports, reading and spending time with her family at her special spot, the camp on The Big Narrows in Lincoln. Whether watching the grandchildren, playing in the water, running through the woods or roasting marshmallows, Susan always had a smile on her face. Her family brought her great joy and each member of her family will have memories to last a lifetime of her laugh and smile.
A 30-year resident of Shrewsbury, Mass., she leaves behind her devoted husband of 46 years, Ronald Ramsay; children, Shawn Ramsay and wife Melanie of Hampden, Kristen Krystal and husband Ric of Hampden, Annelle Benson and husband John of West Boylston, Mass., and Megan Walker and husband Scott of Oxford, Mass.; 13 grandchildren; sister, Linda Trask and husband, Hal of Dover, N.H.; brother-in-law, Donald Ramsay; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relative and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at 10 a.m., Sat., Dec. 15 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St., Worcester, Mass., with a reception immediately following at the church. Burial service will be held at 10 a.m., Sat., Dec. 29 at the Hillside Cemetery in Damariscotta.
