Susan Y. Bilodeau, 57, of Union, formerly of Norfolk, Va., died following a short battle with cancer Feb. 25 at her sister’s home, with her mother and sister at her side.
Born in Bangor, Nov. 17, 1951, she was the daughter of Emery A. and Larissa J. Springer Bilodeau.
She attended schools in Washington and was among the first to graduate from the new Medomak Valley High School, Waldoboro in 1970.
Following graduation, Susan enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving until 1973.
She later worked in a civil service position with the Department of the Navy and for several years as a billing clerk with Conway Transportation Company.
An avid motorcyclist, she enjoyed riding her Yamaha Virago all over the country. She also loved her cats and frequently took in strays.
For more than 20 years she enjoyed a special friendship with Bob and Linda Quealey and their family of Norfolk, Va., who in Susan’s recent illness helped her in numerous ways.
Besides her parents of Waldoboro, Susan is survived by her daughter, Wendy D. Fabin and husband Stephen of Erie, Penn.; two sisters, Katherine Luce of Union, and Mary Nicoll of Bristol, England; brother, Peter Bilodeau of Waldoboro; grandson, Tucker Fabin of Erie, Penn.; niece, Holly Bartlett of Portland; and nephew, Jeffrey Nicoll and wife Kim of Hope.
Private service will be held in the spring at Calvary Cemetery in Whitefield.
