Susanne Hopkins, 52, of Independence, Va., formerly of Damariscotta, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 20 at her home. She was born March 8, 1957 to the late Clifford and Marie Dunbar.
She is survived by daughters, Tanya Shalabi of Galax, Va., and Rebecca Hopkins of Independence, Va.; son, David Hopkins of Winter Haven, Fla.; sisters and brother-in-law, Leslie Brown of Independence, Va., and Tracy and Tim Gable of Galax, Va.; brothers and sister-in-law, William and Claudette Dunbar Sr. of Galax, Va., and Steven Dunbar of Independence, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Susanne’s wishes were to be cremated.
Memorial service 2 p.m., Fri., Feb. 26 at Twin County Funerals Sanctuary in Galax, Va. with Rev. Terri Gregory officiating. Family will be receiving friends same day from 1-2 p.m.
