Tammy D. Shaw Colby, 49, of Boothbay, passed away at her home in Boothbay on May 10. She was born on Dec. 25, 1964 to Richard and Joan Robinson Shaw.
Tammy grew up in Belfast and graduated from Belfast High School. She attended the University of Maine at Orono, where she was an honor student, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
Tammy raised her three kids while working and going to school. She was a hard worker and always persevered. She worked at a travel agency in Belfast for nearly 10 years and held various other jobs over the years. The last five years of her life were dedicated to her passion of opening her own greenhouse. She had a green thumb and loved gardening.
Tammy’s laugh was obnoxious yet contagious all at the same time. You could always hear her going from room to room just by listening for her laugh. She loved her Pomeranian, Snickers. She was a very talented person, and enjoyed painting, writing, crafts, arts, and poetry. Her favorite drink was Diet Pepsi, and she loved crab rangoons. Tammy was a Certified Life Coach and looked forward to working with people.
Tammy was predeceased by her father, Richard Shaw.
She is survived by her husband, Alton Colby; sons, Josh Payson and wife Kelsey of Belmont, Jake Payson of Carabasset Valley, and Nick Payson of Bath; granddaughter Kinslee Payson; mother, Joan Shaw of Waldoboro; and brother, Randy Shaw of New York.
A service to celebrate Tammy’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Tues., May 20 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro, with Rev. Mark Holden officiating.
