Thelma Hanrahan DePatsy Ilves, 91, passed away peacefully on Jan. 14 at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in Bremen, in 1916, the daughter of the late Martin and Nettie Wellman Hanrahan.
In 1934, Thelma married Nicholas DePatsy Sr. of Waldoboro and together they raised three children.
Through the years, she enjoyed playing cards with friends, and bowling at her son’s bowling alley in Waldoboro.
Thelma was an avid reader, and spent many enjoyable summers at her camp on Damariscotta Lake. She loved to crochet and knit items for her family and friends. Over her lifetime, she enjoyed the companionship of her pet poodles: Gina, April, Molly and Danny.
Thelma was deeply devoted to her family and known as Noná to all.
She was predeceased by her husband, Nicholas Sr., in 1960; son, Nicholas Jr., in 2005; Henry Ilves of Waldoboro, whom she married in 1970, and who passed away in 1989; and brother, Robert Hanrahan of Waldoboro.
Thelma is survived by two daughters, Norma D. Osier of Bremen and husband David, and Marie DePatsy Bird of Waldoboro; daughter-in-law, Alice O. DePatsy of Waldoboro; grandchildren, Linda D. Blackler, Maria DePatsy, Nicholas P. DePatsy, all of Waldoboro, Dominic DePatsy of Portland, David J. Osier, Martin Osier, Melanee O. Gilbert and Donald Osier, all of Bremen, Alexandra Bavosi of Rutland Mass., and Ruth Ann Bird of Camden; nephew, Robert Hanrahan Jr.; and niece, Stephanie Krah. Thelma was the proud great-grandmother of 22 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours 6-8 p.m., Tues., Jan. 16 at Hall Funeral Home, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
Celebration of her life 2 p.m., Wed., Jan. 17, at Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Robert Bellows officiating. Spring interment will be in the German Cemetery, Waldoboro.
