Thomas Albert Couture, 52, of Jefferson, passed away suddenly in his home on July 2.
Born on Feb. 7, 1961 in Gardiner General Hospital, he was the youngest child of Ovide C. and Betty M. (Sawyer) Couture.
He graduated from Gardiner High School, class of 1979. Over the years, he had worked as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator, and mechanic among other things. His greatest enjoyments were his children, grandchildren, and motorcycles. He was one of ten “only children.”
A free spirit, and a maker of his own rules, he lived every day to the fullest. Many days were spent riding his Harley and enjoying every moment. Many friends were made along the way, and many unforgettable memories were made as well.
He was predeceased by his mother and father; brothers, Edward, George, John, and Joseph; and sisters-in-law, Pamela, Paula, and Lornie Couture.
He is survived by daughter, Steena Howard, husband Jeremy and grandson Jackson; son, Willard Couture, wife Patty and grandchildren, Anthony and Maria, all of New Hampshire; sister, Margaret Fardon and husband Ed of Buxton; brothers, James and wife Becky of Tennessee, Andrew and wife Alicia of Jefferson, Gene and wife Holly, and Greg and wife Debra, all of West Gardiner; sisters-in-law, Dolly Couture of Oklahoma, Diane Couture of West Gardiner, Joyce Knox of Livermore, Betsy Couture of Illinois; and 31 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held 1-4 p.m., Sat., July 13 at the Couture residence, located at 1206 High St., West Gardiner.
