Todd F. Poole, 83, of Boothbay Harbor, passed away Jan. 6 in Boothbay Harbor. Todd was born on Nov. 22, 1927 in Boston, Mass. to Herbert Slade Poole and Dorothy Todd Poole. He was a graduate of Saint Paul’s School and Yale University. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
He worked for the J.R. Poole Co. and then as a consultant for Robert’s & Associates as a food broker until his retirement in 1990. He was a resident of Marblehead, Mass. until 1992 when he and his wife moved to Southport Island. Todd was an avid sailor, gardener and a consummate learner. He loved the opera and also enjoyed wood working.
In recent years he volunteered for the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Louise Poole of Boothbay Harbor; son, Todd Bartlett Poole of So. Burlington, Vt.; daughter, Catherine Bartlett Poole of Medford, Mass.; granddaughter, Mimi Poole of Medford, Mass.; and brother, Herbert Sheldon Poole of Summerland Key, Fla.
Memorial service 11 a.m., Tues., Jan. 11 at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church, 32 Emery Lane, Boothbay Harbor. The Rev. Wes Shields will officiate.
