Tyler Nelson Wiley, 23, of Wiscasset, died Jan. 5.
He was born in Portland on Oct. 3, 1986, a son of Jon R. and Susan M. (Gray) Wiley.
He attended Wiscasset schools and graduated from Wiscasset High School. He was employed at Le Garage restaurant in Wiscasset since 2002 until present as a sous chef.
Tyler loved being with his family and friends. He enjoyed hiking, camping at Hermit Island, cross country skiing, Sea Dogs games, music and movies. Tyler was very committed to his sister and culinary arts.
He is survived by his father, Jon R. Wiley and wife Joan of Bath; mother, Susan Longfellow of Wiscasset; maternal grandparents, Vernon and Dorothy Gray of Farmingdale; brother, Chandler Longfellow of Wiscasset; step-brothers, Danny Longfellow of Queens, N.Y., and Daniel Wickett of Brunswick; sister, Kyra J. Wiley of Wiscasset; step-sisters, Julie Wickett of Sebago, and Jennifer Wickett of Lee, N.H.; aunts, Janice Keefe and husband Ray of Rochester, N.H., Joyce Metayer and husband Jerry of Rochester, N.H., and Joan Bickford and husband Bob of Wiscasset and many cousins.
Celebration of his life 2 p.m., Sat., Jan. 9 at the First Congregational Church of Wiscasset UCC in Wiscasset with Rev. John P. Potter officiating. Gathering of family and friends will follow in the parish hall.
