Ronnie was born in Chicopee, Mass. May 28, 1931 to Casimir and Victoria (Rzepka) Mekal. She was the youngest of six children. Ronnie was raised and educated in Chicopee where she graduated from Chicopee High School in 1947.
Upon graduation Ronnie pursued her love of art by attending Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Mass. She graduated with a Bachelors Degree of Fine Art. While in college Ronnie met and fell in love with a tall, handsome fellow student, James Robison. They married in 1952.
Ronnie started her career in art education while living in New York while her husband, Jim pursued his Masters degree in Education. They both went on to be talented and popular educators; Jim as an educator in Newton, Mass. and Ronnie in the Concord, Mass. school system.
The couple settled in Sudbury, Mass. where they raised four children; twin sons Peter and Preston, and two daughters, Christine “Beth” and Lauren.
Jim and Ronnie were the founding members of the Greenwood Club, where the family enjoyed many summers swimming and socializing with friends and neighbors. Ronnie and Jim traveled to and fell in love with Maine, and bought land in the mid coast town of Friendship. It was there the entire family embarked on building a lovely summer cottage which they enjoyed for many years.
After retirement, Ronnie and Jim settled in Trevett where they restored their saltwater farm and cultivated beautiful perennial gardens. Many a day was spent working their land and enjoying each other’s company. They enjoyed entertaining their many friends and enjoyed traveling, especially to France and Italy.
