Violet Fay Corson Roderick, 97, of Boothbay Harbor, died peacefully May 28 in Freeport. She was born on March 2, 1913 to Martha Tuscan Corson and Cyrus Pearle Corson in Madison.
She married Daniel Roger Roderick in Skowhegan on May 21, 1934. Violet was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Boothbay Harbor. She truly enjoyed sewing and working on projects for the church fair. In her early years Violet loved spending time on Southport Island at her family cottage.
She was predeceased by her husband Daniel; son, Ronald Roderick; sister, Florence Corson Adams; brothers, Roland Corson, Wilder Corson and Millard Corson.
She is survived by grandsons, Rusty Roderick of Wells and Daniel Roderick and wife Nancy of Brunswick; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral mass 11 a.m., Mon., June 7 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Boothbay Harbor. Father Fred Morse will officiate. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in Boothbay.
