Virginia J. Simmons, 82, of Friendship, died Sept. 30 at her home. She was born May 10, 1929 in Waldoboro to Herbert and Helen Brazier Tibbetts. Virginia graduated from Waldoboro High School.
She married Ralph Simmons. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed wintering in Florida, going to lawn sales with her sister, sewing, embroidery and making rugs. She always enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of the Friendship Senior Citizens and attended the Friendship Advent Christian Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Simmons; and sisters, Una Hoffses, Eleanor Anderson, Ann Mae White, and Mona Faulkingham.
Virginia is survived her sons, Bradley L. Simmons of Friendship and Herbert R. Simmons of Waldoboro; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren
A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Sat., Oct. 8 at the Harbor Cemetery in Friendship. Rev. Alan Chamberlain will officiate.
