Virginia Mary Rawley Coffin, 83, of St. George, died Nov. 21 at the Anderson Inn at Quarry Hill.
Virginia was born Feb. 14, 1927 in St. George, the daughter of Alfred M. and Adranna Wotton Rawley, and attended St. George schools.
She was employed as a sardine packer with the Port Clyde Packing Co., and when that closed, became a C.N.A. with the Rockland Convalescent Center.
An active lady, she was a member of the Port Clyde Baptist Church, Ocean View Grange #463, Knox Pomona Grange, Port Clyde Baptist Sewing Circle, Port Clyde exercise group, Union Senior Citizens and the Rebekahs, and enjoyed going out line dancing with friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph W Coffin.
Survivors include son Joseph C. Coffin and wife Ann of St. George and Jersey Shore, Penn.; step-mother, Dorothy Sears of Rockland; step-brothers, Raymond Rawley and wife Viola of Waldoboro, Richard Rawley and wife Connie of Waldoboro, Ivan Rawley and wife Sharon of Rockland and David Rawley and wife Marie of Waldoboro; sister-in-law, Ruby Rawley of Rockland; step-sisters, Florence Ralph of Warren, Dorothy Means and husband Charles of Winslow; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit with the family 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Sat., Nov. 27 at the Port Clyde Baptist Church in Port Clyde, with celebration of her life 1 p.m., with Pastors Steve Maxwell and John Moulis officiating. Interment will be in the Ridge Cemetery following the service.
