Wade E. Bailey, 59, of Damariscotta, formerly of Waldoboro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Dec. 28 at home.
He was born on Nov. 25, 1953 in Portland, the son of Louis and Charlotte (Sherman) Bailey. He grew up in Waldoboro and attended local schools including Medomak Valley High School. After high school he attended Southern Maine Technical College and then pursued a career in construction.
After over 40 years in the trade, many of those he worked for would consider him as one of the finest craftsman in the Mid-Coast.
He enjoyed excursions down river, fishing adventures to Northern Maine and Canada, finding fiddleheads, the search for sea-glass, and the never-ending quest for a unique marble for his collection.
Wade was predeceased by his parents and brother, Roger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Teresa (Benner) of Waldoboro; son, Louis and wife Leah and sons Eliot, Dennis and Philip of St. Louis, Mo.; daughter, Sarah and husband Ryan Thomas and son Dylan of Libertytown, Md.; step-sons, Aaron Murray of Damariscotta, and Ian Murray of Waldoboro; sisters, Nancy Perkins of Damariscotta, and Valerie Helterbrake of Enid, Okla.; and many cousins, nephews and a niece.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Wade’s memory may be made to the Alewives Restoration Project at DamariscottaMills.org.
