Wallace “Bud” Joseph Kensell, 87, of Boothbay, died Sept. 23 at the home of his daughter-in-law Linda Kensell in Cambridge after a brief illness.
Wallace was born Aug. 1, 1923 in Lewiston, the son of Richard and Martha St. Germaine Kensell and attended schools in Whitefield.
He married Grace Barnes in 1944.
He was employed at BIW in Bath as a welder, then moved to Pittsfield, Mass. and worked at General Dynamics and General Electric, retiring from GE in 1981. Upon his retirement, he returned and settled in East Boothbay.
Wallace was a member of Bayview Lodge # 196, AF & AM.
He is predeceased by his wife Grace Kensell; son, Wallace Kensell Jr.; brother, Gerald Kensell; and sister, Eleanor Barry.
Survivors include daughter-in-law, Linda Kensell of Cambridge; granddaughters, Amy Carr of Chittenden, Vt. and Kathryn McKnight of Pittsfield, Mass.; great-grandchildren, Lydia McKnight and Gavin McKnight; several nieces and nephews; and close friends, David and Donald McFarland and families.
At his request, services will be private.
