Wallace C. “Wally” Abbott, 57, of Edgecomb, died unexpectedly on Oct. 20. He was the loving husband of Barbara (Folland) Abbott with whom he shared 18 years of marriage.
He was the son of the late Frank and Betty Plummer Abbott and was raised in Boothbay. He attended Boothbay schools. He served the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by Cooks Concrete for many years. He also was a handyman doing carpentry, plumbing and heating. He was caring and a “Jack of all trades” and was always there to lend a hand to family and friends in need. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Jamie Jo Webb, and Corey Jo McGee, both of Texas; step-children, Shawn and Kalina Provost of Edgecomb; grandchildren, Lexie Webb, Elijah and Evey McGee of Texas, and Larissa Provost of Edgecomb; brothers, Edward Abbott, James Abbott of Wiscasset, and Dana Ouelette of Texas; sisters, Darlene French of Wiscasset, and Susan Walker of Freeport; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Wally will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 6 in the Ocean View Cemetery, Boothbay. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes any donations or contributions to be made to the Maine Cancer Foundation, 170 U.S. Route 1, Suite 250, Falmouth, ME 04105.
