Wallace H. Brewer Jr., 67, of Boothbay, passed away suddenly on Oct. 11 at his favorite camping spot in The West Forks after a long struggle with health issues. He was born Dec. 28, 1946.
He loved camping, fishing, and hunting and would play a game of cribbage with anyone willing to take him on. He ran the business of Have Truck Will Travel for over 45 years with his family by his side. He was well respected for his work ethics and his determination to do his very best on each job no matter how large or small it was.
He was an active member of The Knights of Pythias holding memberships with Arcana Lodge #102 in Thomaston and Fort George Lodge #32 of Brunswick. He held the highest office for The Knights of Pythias in the state of Maine as the Grand Chancellor of Maine with his daughter, Donna by his side from April 2009-April 2010 and he was also an honorary member of The Maritimes.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Linda, who was his very heart and soul; children, Donna Gregory of Jefferson and husband Marty, Barbara (BJ) Warlo of Boothbay, James Brewer of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and wife Angel, and Chester Brewer of Boothbay; very special “adoptive daughter,” Kareen Nelson of Boothbay; grandchildren, Patrick Gregory of Nobleboro and wife Kristie, Timothy Gregory of Jefferson, Amylynn Balsdon of Boothbay and husband Tyler, Chelsea Copeland of Boothbay Harbor and husband Paul, Daniel Lewis of Wiscasset and wife Kathy, and Stephanie Brewer and James Paul Brewer of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Slade Balsdon of Boothbay, Bailey Lewis of Boothbay Harbor, and Jayden Copeland of Boothbay Harbor; and several nieces and nephews; very special sister, Anna Morton of Ocean Point; and special neighbors that are always with our family in heart and soul.
He had three special “non human” members of his family. Ginger his beloved beagle who always rode with him, most times on the dash; Bandit, his kitty who used to sleep on his pillow most nights, and Happy; his mouthy African Gray Bird who told him to shut up every morning.
Friends and family are welcome to gather for a time of remembrance from 6-8 p.m., Fri., Oct. 17 with a Pythian Service at 7 p.m.
You are invited to share your condolences with the Brewer Family by visiting their Book of Memories at www.hallfuneralhomes.com.
The staff of Hall’s of Boothbay, 975 Wiscasset Rd., Boothbay, is caring for the service.
