Wanda Lee Winslow, 57, of Union, passed away on Sept. 22 at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
She was born Feb. 8, 1950 in London, Ky., a daughter of the late Albert and Pearlie (Davidson) Riley. She attended schools in Kentucky.
For many years Wanda was a foster mother, at one time raising her own four children plus ten more. Her kids were her passion. A foster parenting organization honored Wanda as “Mother of the Year” which she was always very proud of.
She loved to read, and sit on the sun porch and watch the birds. She was a collector of butterflies and angels.
Wanda was an avid country music fan, especially Loretta Lynn, with whom she always identified as another “coal miner’s daughter.”
On May 4, 1992, she married Dane C. Winslow, Sr. in Amesbury, Mass.
In addition to her husband of more than 15 years of Union, Wanda is survived by her children, Pamela Janerico of Maine, Melissa Janerico of New Hampshire, Stevie Janerico of Maine, JoAnn Delmomis of Massachusetts, Marie Finnigan of Maine, and Dane Winslow, Jr. of Maine; sisters, Faye Gordon of Massachusetts and Claudia Dean of Kentucky; brothers, Luther Riley of Kentucky and Albert Riley, Jr. of Kentucky; 10 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at the convenience of Wanda’s family.
Interment will be in the Riley Family Cemetery in London, Ky.
