Wesley A. Joy, 78, of New Harbor, died on May 30 at his home.
He was born in New Gloucester on Jan. 13, 1929, to Mabel and Milton Joy. He attended New Gloucester schools.
He was a member of the U.S. Army during the 1950’s and served at SHAPE headquarters in Paris under Gen. Eisenhower during the Korean War.
On June 23 1955, he married Janice M. Berry, Gloucester, who survives him. Survivors also include a sister, Beverly Leighton of New Gloucester; daughters, Pamela Joy of Brunswick, Lisa Jones and husband Peter of Orrington, and Laurie Miller and husband Ronald of Old Town; grandchildren, Alex Dumond of Auburn, Jeremy and Benjamin Miller of Old Town, and Katherine, Samuel and Seth Jones of Orrington; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no service at his request.
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Strong Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 612 Main St., Damariscotta.
