Mr. Willard A. McNally, 86, of Pittsburg, N.H., passed away suddenly July 11 at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, N.H., after being stricken at his home.
He was born in Portage Lake on April 10, 1925, a son to the late Moses A. and Carrie A. (Gallup) McNally.
He was educated in Portage Lake before moving to other places in his working career. He was a stock clerk for Ingersoll Rand for many years prior to his retirement. After retiring, he and his wife traveled the fair circuit in Maine and elsewhere, always enjoying the agricultural and flea markets that they participated in for thirty years. They resided in Pittsburg, N.H. for the past 22 years.
Willard was a kind, loving, and hard-working man. He had not a mean bone in his body, and was a friend to everyone he met. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and he was a gifted wood-worker.
Family members include his wife of almost 46 years, Roberta (Levesque) McNally of Pittsburg, N.H.; sons, John A. McNally of Milford, N.H. and Vance A. McNally and wife Barbara of Swanzey, N.H.; daughter, Sharry A. Morse and husband Keith of Manchester, N.H.; brother, Frederick McNally of Waldoboro; sisters, Ada Howes of Randolph, Anne Olson of Big Lake, Ala., Edna McLain of Waldoboro, Sandra Smith of South Gardiner and Betty Poland of Bremen; grandchildren, Vannessa McNally, Danielle McNally, Rory Morse, Shawn Morse and Cody Frazier; great-grandchild, Shay A. Morse; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours 6-8 p.m., Fri., July 15 at the Jenkins & Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook, N.H. Calling hours will again be held at the Hall Funeral Home in Waldoboro, 6-8 p.m., Sun., July 17. Graveside service and interment will take place 11 a.m., Mon., July 18 at the Brookland Cemetery in Waldoboro.
