Willard “Bill” Van Buskirk, 85, formerly of South Bristol, passed away quietly on Sept. 19 at Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Yarmouth.
Bill was born on Dec. 8, 1921 in Melrose, Mass., the son of Robert Long and Ann (Westman) Van Buskirk.
He is survived by his sister, Eleanor Harris, of Melrose, Mass. as well as three nephews and two nieces.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Alden, Gordon and twin brother, Gilbert.
Bill worked in Boston for several years before moving to Maine in the mid-60s. He was an Air Force veteran, having served in England during WWII.
Bill loved the outdoors and was an avid fisherman. He was a quiet, gentle man who will be deeply missed by his family.
He will be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Peabody, Mass.
