William “Bill” (Woody) Woodcock, 55, of Waldoboro, died Sept. 20 at his home. He was born Sept. 1, 1955 in Rockland to Lawrence and Shirley Ingraham Woodcock. He was raised in Waldoboro and was a graduate of Medomak Valley High School in the class of 1973.
Bill attended the University of Southern Maine and was a member of Delta Chi fraternity. He was a long time employee of Bath Iron Works. Bill enjoyed being outdoors, whether puttering around the homestead or cruising down river. He especially enjoyed spending time at the woods camp in Haynesville. His latest project was growing pumpkins for the Pumpkinfest.
He was predeceased by his father on Sept. 26, 1994 and by his sister, Laurie, on Aug. 13, 1986.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becki) Woodcock of Waldoboro; sons, Ryan Woodcock of Waldoboro and Richard Woodcock and companion Amber of Gardiner; grandsons, Aidan Woodcock of Rockland and Maverick Woodcock of Gardiner; mother, Shirley Woodcock of Waldoboro; sisters, Mary Bailey of Waldoboro and Helen Tetu of Brunswick; a nephew; and several nieces.
Celebration of Bill’s life 11 a.m., Fri., Sept. 24 at St. Paul’s Chapel, Dutch Neck Rd., Waldoboro. Rev. John Ineson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dutch Neck Cemetery in Waldoboro.
