William H. “Bill” Potter, 82, of Alna, died Nov. 11 at his home following a long illness. He was born in Stetson April 8, 1932, the son of Waldo C. and Thelma (Randall) Potter.
He was a graduate of Newport High School and trained and graduated from the machinist apprentice program at Bath Iron Works. Bill worked at Bath Iron Works for over 30 years.
He was married to Eunice (Parker) Potter who predeceased him on Jan. 13, 2013.
Bill was a member of the Huntoon Hill Grange of Wiscasset and a member of GMC Nor’easters of New England.
Bill was predeceased by his wife; and son, Richard.
He is survived by daughters, Barbara Watkis of Alna, and Pamela Tibbetts of Alna; brother, Robert and wife JoAnn Potter; sisters, Virginia Ezzell of Wiscasset, Mary Bryan of Woolwich, Nancy and husband Raymond Hanna of Brunswick, and Shirley and husband Paul Farnsworth of Dexter; grandchildren, Angela and Joshua; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held from 1-4 p.m., Sun., Nov. 30 at the Huntoon Hill Grange in Wiscasset.
