William J. Belmore, 60, of Wiscasset, passed away peacefully at his home on June 24.
William was born in Natick, Mass. in 1952, graduating from Natick High School in 1970. After serving in the Air Force and graduating from Florida State, he embarked upon a successful career in pharmaceutical sales.
In 2001, he followed his passion for antiques by opening Avalon Antiques Market in Wiscasset, where he was also instrumental in founding the Wiscasset Chamber of Commerce. William also served as a program director for the Maine affiliate of the American Heart Association and was an unwavering and dedicated member to the communities he called home throughout his life.
William was predeceased by his father, James Belmore.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Belmore of Wiscasset; son, Adam Belmore and wife Alicia of Brunswick; stepdaughter, Marjorie Rickards and husband Bill of Amesbury, Mass.; mother, Marie Belmore of Natick, Mass.; brother, Brian Belmore and wife Sheri of Pascoag, R.I.; sister, Cynthia Haslam and husband Peter of Geneva, Ill.; grandchildren, Harper and Graham Rickards; nephews, Frederick and Michael Haslam; and many other loving relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute for the center of neuro-oncology.
