Winfield Robinson “Frosty” Murray, Jr., 61, of Waldoboro, was called home to our Lord on May 22, surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 12, 1948 in Bath, a son of Winfield, Sr. and Dorothy Hassan Murray.
Frosty was a self employed carpenter and marine blood worm digger for over 30 years.
He loved trout fishing and loved to hunt the Alna woods with his children and grandchildren and daughter-in-law.
He spent many wonderful hours on the Sheepscot River fishing for stripers with his wife and soul mate.
He was a kind and giving man who helped anyone who needed him, a man of his word! He was devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather (uncle).
He was predeceased by his parents and father-in-law, Andrew V. Andersen.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Janice Andersen of Waldoboro; children, Winfield R. “Rusty” Murray, III and wife Marisa of Waldoboro, Jason W. Murray and wife Wendy of Hamden, and Karen Murray Hoffses and husband Michael of Friendship; grandchildren, Winfield R. “Buddy” Murray, IV, of Waldoboro, Mackenzie Konner Murray of Waldoboro, Morgan Lacey Karnes Murray of Hamden, and Michael and Victoria Hoffses of Cushing; brothers, Wayne Murray of Damariscotta, Malcolm Morais of South Carolina, and David and Douglas Downes of Rhode Island; sister, Betty Lou Quigley and husband Mike of Rhode Island; sister-in-law, Donna Colby and husband Gordon of Waldoboro; and many wonderful nieces and nephews whom he loved so very much.
At the family’s request, services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 949 Main St., Waldoboro.
