Happenings
There is something so special about a live theater performance – the intimacy, the sense of risk, the not knowing what is going to happen next. And, with a comedy, there is also the opportunity to laugh fully and wholeheartedly. We invite members of the public to come to the theater this weekend for the latest live performance on the Lincoln Theater stage, “Indoor/Outdoor,” presented by the theater’s resident troupe, the Lincoln County Community Theater. Couldn’t we all use a good laugh?
‘Indoor/Outdoor’ opens as animal shelter benefit
LCCT’s production of Kenny Finkle’s “Indoor/Outdoor,” opens at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18 as a benefit performance for the Lincoln County Animal Shelter in Edgecomb. The play, a comedy, concerns a housecat named Samantha who finds herself torn between her affection for a human companion, a nebbishy graphic designer named Shuman, and her attraction to a sexy tomcat.
This concert-style production has minimal staging and props and a few costumes, and sound effects and background slides provide the backdrop as the actors carry their scripts. Tickets for this comedy are $10 for adults, $8 for Lincoln Theater members and youth age 18 and under. Two dollars of every ticket purchased for the opening night performance will be donated to the animal shelter. Note: the play is not suitable for young children.
Performances of “Indoor/Outdoor” will take place at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18; 2 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19; and 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20. Tickets are available through the Lincoln Theater office, at 2 Theater St. in Damariscotta, during office hours or starting one hour before showtime.
