Hello, everyone. My name is Chunk, a fairly new resident of Bristol. I have lived here for three years. My family and I moved here from western Massachusetts.
I am a Texan, actually. I hear tell I was rescued from the trunk of a car at a Petco in Galveston. I don’t recall much of that, but am grateful to the wonderful foster family that took me in at first, and to my mom and dad.
So, here I am in Maine. In western Massachusetts, I ran my own advice column, called “Chew on This.” You know, the usual questions, mostly about cats: why do they do this, why do they do that? I do consider myself a bit of an expert on the subject, as I have three, count ’em, three cats of my own. I see how they run the place, and, honestly, am fine as long as I get to hike with my mom, take naps, go for a ride and a swim — and did I mention naps?
I am happy to be starting my own column here at The Lincoln County News. I feel I have a lot to offer; I am quite fun, and fairly knowledgeable. For example, did you know that dogs have three eyelids? I didn’t know this either, until one day I was wrestling with my sister, Fred (who is a dog), and I dug my face into some bark mulch (is that a dog thing, bark mulch – get it??). Anyway, a piece of it got stuck in one of my eyelids. Long story, but the doctor at the animal hospital and my mom thought one of the cats had nailed me. Lots of laughs when they found out the poor guy was not at fault.
I am hoping to hear from you! My mom has to do the writing; it is a digit thing.
Much love, Chunk Porter
