Nice car
Just a few days ago, in reading The Wall Street Journal, I saw an ad for the latest CGTG 4 Lusso Ferrari car. Really nice car. Price $330,000. But don’t worry. It’s for the whole family. And it comes equipped with baby seats if desired. So there.
It has great wheels, too. What kind are they? Big ones. Really big.
The engine is really neat, too. 680 HP. And it goes fast. Gets the car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. No need to ever be late for anything again. Practical for use around town, getting to appointments.
Do I get angry knowing there’s all that money just floating around as somebody’s plaything? Not at all.
I own a little stock in Ferrari.
So go out and buy one, please.
Old Glory
I see they’ve put the flags up in Damariscotta. That’s a welcome sign.
In these days of all this turmoil, we’re in desperate need of something in which one can believe. That means all of us, regardless of what religion or race we have. All of us.
Our flag is something that fits the bill. The “our” refers to all of us. Every single one of us.
Let it be known that for all its faults, and there are many, our country is still, bar none, the best country in the world. If it isn’t, then tell me why everyone is trying to get into it.
Each day in our schools, we pledge allegiance to our flag. Not every country has always done this. There are some that pledged allegiance to the person of the ruler of the country. Not a good idea. The Germans found that out. We’ll stick with our way of doing it.
There’s a song that has the words, “It’s a high-flyin’ flag.”
May it ever remain so.
