As beautiful as life can be, it can sometimes be overwhelming. It can feel as if there is too much to process. We can try so hard to work through it all and it can still not feel like enough.
When we are in these moments, it is important to pay attention to what puts us at ease. One way to let go of life’s trials and tribulations is through art. As we continue to build our programs at Inn Along the Way, we are aware of the power art has to heal. This spring and summer we will be hosting many art based events and workshops.
In May, we will have our first poets circle. It will be a workshop open to all where people can come together to share and learn through the art of poetry. We will continue our paint workshop, next session will be hand painted cards to send to our loved ones. We will host Peter Bruun’s “How Music Helps,” which explores how art helps us deal with life’s challenges.
In June, our first craft fair will be held for makers who would like to present their creative wares to our community. Open mic will be back with Finntown Road starting off the season and our singing circle will be held throughout the summer.
In July, we will host Bess Welden’s as our next artist in residency. Bess will present “Death Wings,” a web of visual and performing arts that invites open dialogue and compassionate creative exploration of loss and grief. “How Music Helps” will be back at the end of July for a gallery show and live music event.
