As I sit here staring at a blank screen, it occurs to me that I might need some help. I love animals; I could write about the antics of my doggo and kitty friends all day long, but that doesn’t mean you, as a reader, want to hear about them. So I’m asking for your help. I need some new ideas. Otherwise, you’ll be forced to hear about my cat and how cute she is for the 837th time. (To be fair, she is pretty darned cute; however, I may be biased.)
Here are some topics I don’t want to write about, because it causes too much dissent, not because I don’t have an opinion on these subjects:
– neutering your pet
– what’s better: purebred or a mutt
– the continued insistence that aggression is a breed-specific issue
– vegetarianism/veganism/animal cruelty
– animals as workers (police, farm, etc.) – as an argument, no – however, I would be happy to do a story on one, if you know of one
– skunks as pets
– whether or not you should name your clownfish Nemo
Just about anything else is fair game – so let’s hear those suggestions! You can call me at 563-3171 or text me at 504-1569. You can email me at ads@lcnme.com or allpwz@yahoo.com. You can skywrite, if you’d like, though I don’t go outside much. When I do, it’s usually because I’m walking a dog, so I’m probably looking at him, not the sky. You can try smoke signals, but it’s probably not going to work, and all you’ll do is get the fire department at your door – which is probably not the best use of that particular community resource. Also, as my supervisor is the Damariscotta fire chief, I really don’t want to make him mad, so please forget I mentioned the smoke signals and stick with phone or email. Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.
