The Pemaquid Beach Triathlon is on Sunday, Aug. 25. Ten weeks to go!
If you have not registered yet, now is the time. You can participate as part of a team or as an individual. It is a sprint triathlon, with short distances, so anyone can do this! The swim is 1/4 of a mile, the bike is 17 miles, and the run is a 5K, or 3.1 miles.
Ten weeks is a long time to prepare for this event, and this is perfect triathlon for a beginner. If open water swims are daunting for you, I invite you to join a group that swims every Sunday at noon at Biscay Pond in Damariscotta. We are all levels and ages. I highly recommend a brightly colored swim cap and a swim buoy. This has a belt and a float that is easily seen for safety. I got mine on Amazon.
Tip of the week: Sign up! Registration is online at runsignup.com/Race/ME/NewHarbor/PemaquidBeachSprintTriathlon.
Please reach out with any questions. Happy Training!
