As we move toward the Christmas holiday, please be aware of our signs regarding our hours of operation. You also can get that information on the Nobleboro town office website. You will also find this article on that site.
We continue to get many questions regarding hazardous waste such as gas, antifreeze, turpentine, solvents, acids, etc. The only way we can help you with this is to hold a hazardous waste day. This requires a tremendous amount of time and planning. I hope to have a day scheduled for sometime next year. I will keep you informed. If you feel you would like to dispose of these products on your own, there are companies that can take them. Two that I know of are EPI and Clean Harbors. You may get more information from us or their websites.
Please, no plastic bags in any of our recycling containers. The only exception is bags you use to recycle returnable bottles and cans.
Just so you know: electronics do not go in the rigid containers. Most electronics have a fee for disposal and are considered hazardous waste. Also, PVC materials do not go into the rigid container. PVC materials go into our demo containers.
Don’t forget to take a survey. If we don’t offer you one, please ask us for one.
Please, if you are not recycling, give some thought to starting. In the long run it will save you money.
