A big thank you to Pete, Paul, and Brian (The Horseshoe Crabs) for the entertainment on Saturday at the transfer station. We had lots of positive comments from our customers. Hopefully we might do this again sometime. Thanks again.
Don’t forget the reuse of the three R’s of waste reduction. There are many ways that materials headed for the trash might be reused. How about clothes that still have some life or maybe a toy your kids have outgrown? Think about reuse before you throw something in the trash.
Please help us out by not throwing AC units, refrigerators, or dehumidifiers in our metal container. These need to have the freon or other cooling agent removed before they are thrown away. If the cooling agent doesn’t get removed, it ends up in the atmosphere when we crush the metal (not a good thing).
For all of you who have hazardous waste around your home, shed, barn, or basement, I am working on another hazardous waste day. Please be patient, it will take time to pull this together.

Five recycled 2-liter bottles can be used to make 1 square foot of carpet.
Over 51 billion pieces of litter are thrown onto roads in the U.S. annually. Litter cleanup costs an estimated $11.5 billion each year in the U.S. (Just ask the volunteers who did the roadside cleanup in Bremen. Good job to everyone that helped.)
